In was saddened the Rockies resolutely went back to work Tuesday night, turning to the familiarity of baseball to try and cope with the unexpected death of team president Keli S. McGregor.

"I guess shock is the word that describes it," said first baseman Todd Helton, the Rockies' longest tenured player. "A great man, I've known him 15 years and he's the last person, you'd think, that you'd be getting that call about. He kept himself in great shape, worked hard, a very compassionate man who loved this team and loved his family even more."

Keli was 48 yearys old , in his 17th year in the organization and his ninth as team president, was found dead Tuesday morning in his hotel in Salt Lake City, Utah, where he was on a business trip with team chairman and CEO Charlie Monfort and executive vice president Greg Feasel.

The Rockies' clubhouse was closed to media during the daily pregame access period, and manager Jim Tracy met with his team to inform them of McGregor's death and to pray for Keli , his wife and their four children.

"I'm stunned. I can't believe what has happened," Tracy said softly while sitting in the Rockies' dugout at Nationals Park. "I don't understand. I've told so many people in that clubhouse, I want to understand this, but I don't. I don't know what to say."

"It's hard-hitting because Keli put the organization first -- always," said hitting coach Don Baylor, who managed the Rockies for the first six seasons of their existence. ""We had good conversations in the weight room. We were just talking baseball and the Rockies. My heart goes out to his family and the Rockies organization," Marquis said. "The loss is going to linger because he meant a lot to a lot of people in Colorado and Denver, and he has done some great things."

Baylor said Rockies players and staff would turn to their faith to try and deal with McGregor's passing. In-season grief is something Baylor has personal experience with. In 1978, Baylor was playing with the California Angels when teammate Lyman Bostock was shot and killed in Gary, Ind.

"It's difficult, it really is. ... We have a lot of Christian guys on this ballclub, guys that believe. Keli was a Christian man," Baylor said. "At 48 years old, you're still asking why. But it's not for us to say why; guys go out and play for him, the legacy of the organization is what you put on your back.

"The values he possesses and the values he instills in other people, either by his words or his actions, it's unfortunate that a lot of people in baseball that aren't around the Rockies haven't had an opportunity to meet this guy," Tracy said. "Because if you haven't had a chance to meet him and get to know him and find out who he is and what he's all about, you've missed an unbelievable opportunity at meeting a great man. A very, very special man. I'm torn up."

There was no consideration given to postponing Tuesday night's scheduled game against the Washington Nationals, the second of four meetings in the Rockies' lone trip to the nation's capital this season, said Tracy and Nationals president Stan Kasten.

There was a moment of silence before the game during which a photo of McGregor was shown on the scoreboard and a list of his accomplishments was read.

Helton will miss the affable organizational guy who wasn't too big to go duck hunting or golfing with him. Baylor said it was difficult to imagine the Rockies without the unselfish leader who always put the team's needs before his own.

Baylor said "Knowing Keli McGregro " "he'd want us out there, he'd want us playing and he'd want us playing hard."

It was last January 1, 2010 the MPD has responded to 80 calls at Northside High and Alternative High Schools. They’ve responded to 89 calls at East High during the same period.

The fighting is very disturbing for MCS Parent April Brooks. “We need to come up with some more alternatives. If there’s still 21 plus children fighting, then we need some more alternatives, cause that’s not working.”

The twenty one (21) students were taken into police custody from Northside Alternative including 18 year-old Toran Mays. 20 minors were issued juvenile summons. About an hour later a fight between several girls broke out at East High School. Two people were sent to the hospital including a hall monitor.

BOB UEKER : WWE HALL OF FAME

The legend and Milwaukee Brewers enthusiast Bob Uecker will add another impressive honor to his long resume this Saturday.

In 1987, Uecker's finest wrestling-related moments came when he did the play-by-play for Wrestlemania III at the Pontiac Silverdome, and a year later when he was the backstage interviewer at WrestleMania IV in Atlantic City.

It took a brave man to question Andre the Giant.

The ceremony is part of WrestleMania week. Other inductees include Gorgeous George, Ted "The Million Dollar Man" DiBiase Sr., former Women's Champion Wendi Richter, Maurice "Mad Dog" Vachon, Stu Hart and Japanese legend Antonio Inoki.

A place to visit this coming Holy week the MONASTERIO DE TARLAC, Barangay Lubigan, San Jose, Tarlac where in the sacred relic of the cross of Jesus Christ cross in the entire Asia. If you just want to have a break from your worldly care visit the site itself has much to say God's wonders to behold. The place is very calm and relaxing. It's like your very close to God and because the location was on the top of the mountain.

The province of Tarlac with the Department of Tourism in Central Luson recently cited the Monasterio de Tarlac as one of the most pilgrimage site in the region for the spiritual prominence as the shrine of sacred relic of the cross upon which Jesus Christ was crurified and died.

The relic is contained in a silver reliquary housed in an ornately decorated glass case on one of the altars of the Church of the Risen Christ in the sprawling monastery where one also finds a 30-foot statue of the Risen Christ. At the top the imposing altar is the Latin inscription Ave, Crux, Spes, Unica, which means "Hail, the Holy Cross, Our Only Hope."

He said the relic is the only one of its kind in the entire Asia and is now under the ministerial care of the Servants of the Risen Christ, a monastic congregation led by its prior, Frater Ronal Thomas Cortez.

The congregation has only 30 contemplative monks or religious brothers nationwide. They are also called "frater" to the Catholic community.

Msgr. Volker Bauer of Germany turned over the sacred relic to Prior Cortez during the 2005 World Youth Day held in Essen, Germany. In Essen, he said Bauer first informed Cortez about plans to turn over the relic to the Philippines. Bauer flew into the country with the relic, which was first brought to a church at the Clark Freeport before being transferred to its final destination at the Monasterio de Tarlac.

Since then the number of pilgrims to the site has swelled, prompting the monks to hold 10 a.m. Masses on Saturdays and Sundays.

"After the Mass, the faithful are allowed to have a closer look at the cross fragment in the reliquary to pay homage and be blessed spiritually," he said.

Every September 14 when the entire Christendom commemorates the anniversary of the dedication of the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem, the silver case containing the relic would be opened for public veneration.

In 1963, the Catholic Church declared September 14 of every year as the Feast of the Triumph of the Cross.

The DOT recalled that the veneration of the true cross of Jesus Christ started in the fourth century.

"According to Christian tradition, when Emperor Constantine granted religious freedom to Christians in the Roman Empire in 313 A.D., his mother, Queen Helena, later in 326 A.D., made a pilgrimage to the Holy Land to locate those places sacred to Christians and found the authentic cross of Jesus," and the province keep promoting pilgrimages to the Tarlac monastery and its eco-tourism park.

As the stories of "Queen Helena had churches built in many of these sacred sites, such as the Tomb of the Holy Sepulchre, Calvary, the exact place where Jesus was born. She also found the true cross buried under a pagan temple as well the nails (used to crucify Jesus), and the title that was affixed to the cross".Queen Helena was said to have verified the true cross among the three that were unearthed under the temple, as it produced miracles, including the return to life of a dead girl when her body was placed on a part of the cross.

"She left part of the cross in Jerusalem, gave some parts to her son in Constantinople, and took other parts back to Rome where the Church of the Holy Cross of Jerusalem was built," "Pieces of the cross were venerated as holy relics, and fragments were given as gifts to many churches in Europe,"

Our late Tarlac Congressman Jose 'APING" Yap developed the 278-hectare Tarlac Ecotourism Park where the Monasterio de Tarlac, Brgy. Lubigan. San Jose, Tarlac. He was buried at Monasterio de Tarlac too.

LONDON OLYMPICS 2012 are all set

An about extra 300,000 seats will be available to sports fans at the 2012 London Olympics as they set out their plans for avoiding the empty stadiums at Beijing.

Ticket numbers were raised from 7.7 million to 8 million, the London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games, responsible for staging the Games, said.

An extra 500,000 tickets were made available for the Paralympics, bringing the overall total to 10 million.

Of the remaining 25 per cent, about 8 per cent will go to sponsors, 13 per cent to international fans and sports organisations and four per cent to hospitality and travel companies.

Prestige hospitality tickets will account for less than one per cent of tickets on sale, it added.

London 2012 will be hoping to emulate the success of the this year's Vancouver winter Olympics when fans filled the stadiums, creating a vibrant atmosphere, in contrast to Beijing 2008 where volunteers were deployed to occupy swathes of empty seats at many venues.

London Organizin Committee is looking at shortening sessions to keep spectators interested, reducing the number of accredited seats for preliminary rounds, and setting up a system that allows seats to be reallocated after they have been vacated.

Deighton also said it would be looking to squeeze out ticket touts so affordable tickets ended up in the hands of real sports fans.

A 2012 Olympics site was launched on Monday to provide fans with information about events and tickets.

Nancy Pelosi : fire

In related to their failure to stop health care reform from passing last night, the Republicans have set their sights on a new goal: Speaker of the House is Nancy Pelosi.

It has been replaced by boasting a goal to knock the Democratic leader from her post by winning 40 seats in the House of Representatives in November's elections.

"It is time to fire Nancy Pelosi and send a message to President Barack that it's time to stop their partisan liberal agenda of government takeovers and start working for Americans to create jobs and grow our economy," said in a statement late last night.

The site aims to raise $402,010 in 40 hours. As of this posting, the total had reached $278,684. The donators are invited to give as little as $40, but as much as $400.

While Republicans demonize the House Speaker with the Web site, are praising her and the passage of health care reform from Democrats .

Chairman Tim Kaine said "President Obama and Congressional Democrats accomplished something that has eluded Presidents, Congress and the American people for decades."

"We owe great thanks to the President, Speaker Pelosi, Majority Leader Reid and their leadership teams."

This is not the first time Pelosi has been targeted by the GOP. Last year, the National Republican Congressional Committee spearheaded a Fire Nancy Pelosi petition using mobile phones. The goal was to obtain signatures, but also raise money.

Nancy Pelosi, a California congresswoman first elected to the House in 1987, is the nation's first female to hold the position of Speaker.

Its time for Margaret "Gipsy" Moth (MM) who died colon cancer. MM died quietly in hospice care, but what's so unusual about MMoth's death is her life.

She was born in Gisborne, New Zealand. MMoth moved the United States and worked as a cameraman for CNN. She was fearless, and she asked for the most dangerous assignments. Margaret wanted to be in the middle of all the action and when other reporters and cameramen would dive for cover and she was continue filming.

It was in 1992 when she was 1941, she got her beautiful face shot. She was horribly maimed with her face and part of her tongue shot off. Her life was full and then, she was diagnosed with colon cancer and she ended her life quietly in hospice care.

Margaret Moth died in Rochester, Minnesota on hospice care Colon Cancer at the age of 58 years old.

The House of Representatives has just started the session at which a crucial vote on health care benefits reform is expected.

The democratic leaders expressed confidence they would get the 216 votes needed to pass historic health care reform legislation in the House, while Republicans promised to keep fighting, with one GOP House member saying they would use "every means at our disposal" to stop the bill from becoming law.

The decisive House vote scheduled for later today could define the success or failure of President Obama's administration.

NCAA hockey tournament 2010

It was the Maine Black Bears could guarantee themselves a spot in the NCAA hockey tournament with a win in the Hockey East Championship over Boston College.

Three minutes later in the first, Matt Lombardi, he would have a huge night, makes it 2-1 Eagles. Once again, the Black Bears respond quickly. Just 36 seconds after that goal, Joey Diamond scored and it was 2-2 after the first period.

It was 4-3 Boston College after the second when Jimmy Hayes scored for BC five minutes into the third and the Eagles were up 5-3. David deKastrozza scored three minutes later and it was 5-4 with 12 minutes to go.

Then, with just over five minutes remaining, Barry Almeida scored to put the Eagles back up two goals. Instead of backing down, Maine came storming back. Just 36 seconds after Almeida scored for BC, Spencer Abbott scored off a faceoff and it was 6-5 Boston College. Then with 27 seconds remaining in the game, Joey Diamond scored and we were tied at six going into overtime.

Tomorrow the field is released for the NCAA tournament and the Black Bears are more than likely on the outside looking in. A tough break but a lot of positives to take for next season.

Iceland volcano erupts

Iceland's first volcanic eruption in six years forced 600 people to flee their homes on Sunday and brought a halt to all flights into and out of the Nordic island nation.

Smoke could be seen rising from behind Eyjafjallajoekull glacier and volcanic ash filled the sky after the eruption -- foretold by a week of localised earthquakes -- began after midnight (0000 GMT) on Saturday.

No casualties were reported in the remotely populated area, about 125 kilometres (75 miles) east of Iceland's capital Reykjavik.

But the risk of floods posed by melting glacial ice prompted the authorities to declare a state of emergency and to immediately evacuate the area.

"We did not have time to be afraid and everyone was so calm and stoical," farmer Dorhildur Bjarnadottir, 51, told AFP in Hvolsvoellur, a small town of 800 near the glacier where some of the evacuees took refuge."The worst part in all of this is to leave our animals behind at home," her husband added.

Three Icelandic airports -- including the main international airport in Reykjavik -- were closed, and all air traffic to and from Iceland had been suspended by mid-day on Sunday.

"Around 600 people have been evacuated and the area is still closed," local police chief Kjartan Thorkelsson told AFP.
With no statewide race on the ballot in November and no president or former president on the speaking card, there were fewer attendees at this year's annual dinner than at past events. But because of an unexpected quirk in the schedule, the dinner took place the on the eve of Sunday's final showdown vote in the House of Representatives, and the participants had an air of defiant excitement.

Response was far more tepid from Rep. Glenn Nye, whose office released a statement indicating he will vote "no," even as he delivered a six-minute speech in which he did not mention the topic. As he left the stage, he was greeted by a few calls from the audience to "pass health care now!"

There was the usual assortment of congressional and possibly future statewide candidates on hand to mix and mingle. During his remarks, U.S. Sen. Mark Warner led the 1,100 person crowd in a round of muted applause for last year's defeated once -- and in some cases possibly future -- statewide candidates, all of whom were present: Steve Shannon, Jody Wagner, Terry McAuliffe, Brian Moran and Creigh Deeds.
